Capture the Flag – Tuesday June 30th: 6:45

XOSO Sports & Social League will be hosting another free Capture the Flag pick up game on Tuesday June 30th at 6:45.

Come on out and get some exercise while meeting some new people!

http://www.xososports.com/event/free-capture-flag-game-8

We’ll be at Fremont Park (between 15th and 16th Streets and between Q and P Streets) and we’ll play till 8ish. Meet us at the fountain in the middle wearing your Xoso shirt if you have one!

We have a couple new rules to test out before the league starts in July/August. Last time we had way more people than expected. We´ll be testing out rules and substitutes, so hopefully everyone will get a chance to play! Bring your friends and share the love. This will be Tuesday night at 6:45pm at Fremont Park.

Wear your XOSO shirts if you’ve got one.

You remember the game: two teams, each with a flag and a jail. You have to sneak across the field, past the neutral zone to capture their flag, all while evading the other team. If they tag you on their side of the field, you go to their jail where you will be guarded vigilantly. Never fear, your team can spring you from the slammer by tagging you before they themselves are captured.

This is a free Xoso Sports event. Tell your friends! If you have a Xoso t-shirt please wear it to this event. We’ll head over to Hot Italian or Zebra Club for a little drinking and socializing after the game.

Multicultural Children’s Literary Arts Festival – Saturday, May 16, 2009

Dear Friend of the Arts,

This year marks the Sacramento Poetry Center’s 30th anniversary.  We would like to hold a celebration for all of our contributors over the years, and do something to help launch a new generation of writers and artists.

We invite you to participate in a day-long Multicultural Children’s Literary Arts Festival to be held at Fremont Park (15th and P Streets) on Saturday, May 16, 2009.  This event will combine performances, exhibits and interactive activities for children.  We are offering each participant (organization, individual or business) FREE exhibit space for the day and invite you to create at least one interactive activity for children for your space.  We will also have several areas for ongoing performances throughout the day.

If you would like to participate, please register online at http://www.mccaf.net by Friday, March 13, 2009.

This event will be at no cost to you and will give you an opportunity to highlight your group’s activities and share them with the community.  We are hoping that this event will introduce children and their families to many of Sacramento’s regional arts groups and give us the chance to celebrate art together.

Thank you for your support,

The Sacramento Poetry Center

& Friends of Fremont Park
